Governance and Livelihoods Agenda NPC (AgendaGL) was founded in 2015. AgendaGL is a dynamic NGO that aims to contribute towards uplifting communities’ livelihoods by nurturing the leader in each child and woman. We believe that individuals with independent and transformed minds are leaders capable of bringing about positive change for themselves and those around them. This is possible with quality and relevant support in a safe and enabling environment. AgendaGL also engages with systems of governance in ensuring that they are responsive and accountable to those they govern and the governed have the capacity to effectively hold such to account. AgendaGL is one of the partner organizations implementing a national programme on enhancing accountability in South Africa that seeks to strengthen social accountability in local government so that the institution of local government returns to its mandate of addressing the devastating socio-economic conditions in rural areas and former homelands.
Governance and Livelihoods Agenda is seeking to employ a Project officer to be based in Ethekwini, KwaZulu-Natal Province.

Remuneration: Market related

PROJECT OFFICER
Responsibilities.
The project Officer will be expected to
-
Actively engage in advocacy work and community facilitation activities
-
Conduct Social Audits, Conflict Resolution and Management as well as Cultural Sensitivity workshops.

Write reports of high quality
-
To plan and execute project plans independently.
-
Work within a multi-cultural team.
-
Be highly energetic, sociable, and approachable; and
-
Have a high level of emotional maturity.
Requirements
-
A master’s degree in the Social Sciences/ Political Science or any other related qualification with 5 years’ experience.
-
Qualification/s or experience in Advocacy, Social Audits, Community Facilitation and Conflict Management and Cultural Sensitivity
-
Demonstrable interest in Community Development work
-
High level of Computer Literacy
-
A strong work ethic, is proactive and takes initiative
-
Must be an iSiZulu speaker.

A team player
-

JUNIOR RESEARCHER

The Junior Researcher is expected to:

Demonstrable interest in Community Facilitation and Community Development work • High level of Computer Literacy
